ViewCalgary - Montgomery - John Hextall Bridge

We are standing on the Bowness side of the John Hextall Bridge looking into Montomery. Constructed in 1910 - 1911, the Bowness Bridge later became known as the Shouldice Bridge, and is now the James Hextall Bridge. On our right is a modern Shouldice Bridge for vehicles only, while this bridge is preserved for pedestrian use. It is a good spot to view the annual Raft Race in July. A plaque is dedicated to John Hextall, and explains the bridge's history.
