Skyline against Chinook Arch

Skyline Home Gallery Home ViewCalgary Home
Taken from Tom Campbell hill, near the Zoo, one warm windy day in January 2001. Although not sunny (yet), the temperature had risen nearly 30 degrees in 6 hours. The word "chinook" is derived from an Indian word or expression meaning "snow eater", which describes well how the snow disappears when one blows in. High resolution photo (160 KB).
