| This overview was taken from the top of Tunnel Mountain, an easy hike of 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) with an elevation gain of about 310 meters (1000 feet) that starts right in the town. Note the world reknown Banff Centre for the Performing Arts (left foreground). Also visible on the extreme right is the Trans-Canada Highway, which turns the corner in front of the mountain range in the background and travels to Lake Louise (a further 50 kilometers, 30 miles, distance). | ||
