The Vermillion Lakes lie adjacent to Banff townsite and provide miles of shoreline to
paddle along. Wildlife are frequently seen here in the early morning and late evening.
This is one of the classic views of Banff National Park - Mount Rundle reflected
in a quiet edgewater pool of the Vermillion Lakes, framed by Tunnel Mountain on the left
and the east slope of Sulphur Mountain on the right. With the shifting light creating
an endless variety of lighting effects, it's easy to see why this is
a favourite stop for photographers and artists.
