Calgary Downtown Tour Looking North at 9 Avenue and 2 Street SE

This intersection marks the south east corner of our downtown tour (for now). 9th Avenue continues out of the picture to the right, and heads towards Fort Calgary, the historic Inglewood Community, and the turnoff to the Calgary Zoo. These attractions should be available on our site in the next few weeks. Meanwhile... the large glass enclosed structure in the centre of this photo is the Calgary Municipal Building, home of most of the city's administration offices and site of the Calgary City Council Chambers. Meetings are held every other week and are open to the public. Another interior feature is the atrium, that spans the first 8 flooors. The section of the building in the centre foreground, connecting to the Plus-15 bridge across the street, holds the unique Triangle Gallery.

Continue forward to find the Olympic Plaza and City Hall in the next block. Or turn left here to access the Performing Arts Centre's eastern entrance.
