Calgary Downtown Tour Looking East at 5 Avenue and 2 Street SE

Fifth Avenue is another of Calgary's designated one-way streets, the main purpose of which is to move traffic quickly into and out of the downtown core. Fifth Avenue is a main exit route out of the downtown for eastbound commuters. Just beyond view in this photo is the Langevin Bridge over the Bow River and the connection with Memorial Drive which takes eastbound traffic out to eastern districts.

The building on the left in this photo is the YWCA centre.
