The sandstome building just visible on the left is the Provincial Appeals Court. Behind it is the Court of Queen's Bench building, a relatively new structure that occupies the same site as Calgary's original court house. Across the street, right foreground is the Northstar Energy Building, former home of an oil company that was taken over a number of years ago. This building has been transformed into a TV studio - home of the A-Channel for since 1997. Often, passers-by can watch a production live through the street-level windows, or even be in them (the nightly weather forecasts are usually telecast from the sidewalk in front of the building).
