Calgary Downtown Tour Looking East at 8 Avenue and 10 Street SW
With Mewata Armories behind us and the towers of downtown ahead, we are in an area that we fully expect to be redeveloped in the coming years. For now the new buildings are springing up towards the river on our left. But when that space has gone there may be eager eyes looking towards the land occupied by car dealerships on our right.

These blocks have mostly low-rise commercial buildings, offices and the Lord Nelson Inn, seen in the centre of this photo. 8th Avenue at this point is relatively quiet, except in the evening rush hour, so it provides good access to downtown off Bow Trail/9th ave.
