Love it or hate it, the Nova building definitely makes a statement. I like the building, if for no other reason than its accent on plants and trees. It has a striking atrium on the west side, looking out onto Centennial Park. This is one of several towers in Calgary where the developers have left a legacy in the form of a park or gardens in some very expensive real-estate.|
Century Gardens Park is an interesting attempt to meld concrete, water and trees. In the summer its waterways spill over large concrete shapes to bring a calming splashing sound to offset the constant flow of traffic around its boundaries. It takes on a starker tone in winter, when the water is drained to prevent ice damage, but that is balanced by the evergreens.
