Ahead on the left is one of the most artful carpark designs in the city. The multi-level park is clad outside to look like a stylish brick warehouse conversion. Some have criticised the expense, but it sure is an impressive addition, with its Plus 15 walkway looking out across 9th ave.|
In the distance ahead, we are looking at the glass-clad tower that houses the CPR head offices. It is actually only two blocks away, pushed out by the wide-angle lens. Known as Gulf Canada Square, it housed the main offices of Gulf Canada, a major integrated oil company that could trace it origins in Canada back to two early players in the oil patch -- British American Oil ("BA") and Royalite. Gulf subsequently spun off their products marketing and gasoline business to Petro-Canada, but retains an active role as a production and exploration company. They share space with CPR in the building.
