The low angle of the late November noon hour sun makes for long shadows and variable temperatures, making shirtsleeves, parkas and everything in between reasonable outer wear. On this particular day, the temperature hovered near the 0o C. mark, making it one of the cooler days we experienced in an otherwise very warm fall of 1999. Many citizens took advantage of +21o weather (that's +21, folks) on Christmas and Boxing Day to play a round of golf (no, that's not a mistake - we said golf). Thanks to our nearness to the Rocky Mountains, just 60 miles to the west, Calgary often gets warm days in fall and winter. It's just that this year we ended up getting a couple of warm months, and it was wonderful!
