As may be gathered from the photo, the large building in the foreground is the Stock Exchange Tower, former home of the Alberta Stock Exchange. Prior to computerization and later merger to form the Canadian Venture Exchange, the trading floor was located on the second floor and featured public viewing. The main floor is now occupied by the customer service department of Calgary's largest Internet service provider, with walk-in access to several terminals (perhaps the crowd is heading in to do a little surfing).
