Calgary Downtown Tour Looking West at 7 Avenue and 4 Street SW

The overhead wires that are visible in the photo (just) bring back memories of the days when Calgary operated a fleet of electric trolley buses. Most downtown streets had a maze of such wires to take the buses on their appointed rounds. Calgary also ran a number of electric street car routes, which also used an overhead power source, but none of us remember that era. Continue forward to move into the west end of downtown. Turn right for the court house, or left for the 3-level pedestrian bridge joining the downtown Eaton's store with Canada Trust Tower.
