From its modest agricultural beginnings (as shown by
the photo on this page) the world-reknown Calgary Stampede has become one of the premier events
in Canada and North America.
Visitors from around the world travel to Calgary in early July to take part in this annual celebration
of western history and culture (and to just plain have a great time). By the time the 10 day event is
finished, over 1.2 million persons will have taken in the chuckwagon races, rodeo and
