Stampede Midway

The midway has been a central feature of the Stampede for almost as long as the event has
been held. Thrilling rides, games of chance, fast food, huge crowds of people... standard
fare for the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth". This year's midway offers thrill-seekers two new rides -- the "Sling Shot" and the "Skyscraper". Both propel riders to heights over 200 feet at speeds up to 100 miles per hour. They will even take a movie of you during the ride (to bring back all those "wonderful" memories -- as if you'd need it!). Here are some of the sights that (hopefully)
convey a bit of the atmosphere of this extraordinary place. |
