| View Northwest from Scotsmans Hill The
white building at bottom-right is the storage
facility for the Victoria Community Centre, which
is located to its left in the trees. The Centre
is also used by the Naval Veterans Association.
Beyond the Community Centre are the Rundle Ruins,
just off 12th Ave. These are the remains of the
large sandstone Glenmore Hospital, built 1894,
and demolished in 1973. Calgary's first major
hospital was located at 6th St and 12th Ave SE.
It became an isolation hospital and then a
seniors home.
Just right of centre you can see the glass
tiers of the Municipal Building, across the rail
tracks in Downtown. (back)
