The ease with which 18th Ave swings between residences and commerce is reminiscent of a small town, and is quite charming. By the way, the patches of moisture on the driveway are the traces of a freezing rain storm that struck the day before. The photographer is balancing precariously on a sheet of smooth ice. The artificial confidence gained by doing this, lead to his downfall, (literally), later on this tour. (back)
