| Tour 1 Kensington to Confederation Park Confederation Park to U of C U of C circular tour of the campus U of C to the Bow River via 29 St 29 St at Parkdale to 14 St Bridge 14 St Bridge to Downtown |
You'll see many different scenes on this tour, as you start along the river, climb the long hill to SAIT, and then on to peaceful Confederation Park. You can take a trip around the U of C Campus, and then let gravity do most of the work as you return to the river. About 30% is on roads, with the balance on pathways. Allow two to three hours for a leisurely pace. LRT access points are Sunnyside, SAIT, and University stations. Click here for more recent Bow River Valley Panoramas |
| Tour 2 U of C tour of the campus in 1999 |
Allow 30 minutes for this tour round the outer perimeter of the Campus. There are no significant hills, and LRT access is at the University station. Many changes have taken place since these pictures were taken in 1999. See the newer pictures below. |
| Tour 3 29 St at Parkdale to Montgomery Montgomery to U of C via Market Mall U of C circular tour of the campus U of C to the Bow River via 29 St |
This tour has sections along the river, some panoramic views, exits to shopping malls and a tour of the University Campus. It is mostly flat except as you climb up from the valley at Montgomery. The loop takes about 90 minutes, and about 20% of it is on roads, with the balance on the pathway system. For the most part the road sections involve quiet streets, but you will cross some major roads. The LRT access points are Banff Trail station and University station. |
The pathway pictures were taken with a Fujifilm MX-700 pocket-sized camera when we first started www.viewCalgary.com. For more recent images taken with Nikon D1X digital cameras see Peter Reath Galleries ...
