NW Pathway Tours ---------- U of C
Varsity Courts to Bow RIver at 29th St------------
----
| Leaving
Varsity Courts behind, we are now heading SE towards the
university. On the right you can just make out the
Olympic Oval. To the right for about a kilometer is a
combination of university and Alberta lands that
constitute a natural area right across to Shaganappi
Trail, and from 32nd ave to 16th ave. The northeast part
of it is fenced in for university use, but the majority
is open to the public for hiking. You can access it by
following this road right until the next right turn, near
the U of C services building. At the rear of the building
is an open gate through the fence. There are several
other entrances on the southeast boundary, and two off
Shaganappi Trail. At this point you can transfer to the circular tour of the University. If you do, it is possible to rejoin this tour when you get round to the south side at University Drive, (look out for the link to Parkdale). There are 26 pictures in the tour, and more may be added. Otherwise we shall jump directly to the south side when you click the arrow. |
