When you get up the hill at COP you realize the slope is much bigger and scarier than it appears from the TransCanada Highway below. Ski Jumpers train and compete year-round thanks to an artificial surface for Summer Jumping. In Winter spectators need boots that will grip on ice and snow, because the pathways are steep and can be slippery. A path runs from top to bottom on the west side of the jumps, with observation points at several places.
